Creating Joy, Connection, and Lasting Memories
Why We Do It
Because Everyone Deserves to Experience Joy
For many residents, daily life is defined by routine, limitations, and responsibilities that leave little room for rest, exploration, or new experiences. Opportunities to travel, to feel carefree, or to simply step outside familiar walls are often out of reach. Over time, this lack of change and stimulation can impact emotional well-being, connection, and overall quality of life.
Resident Vacation Club exists to change that narrative.
We believe joy is not a luxury—it is essential. Joy uplifts the spirit, sparks curiosity, and reminds people of who they are beyond their circumstances. We believe connection restores what isolation erodes, and that shared experiences strengthen bonds between residents, caregivers, and communities. Most importantly, we believe meaningful experiences have the power to awaken hope, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Through the Resident Vacation Fund, we remove financial barriers so every participant—regardless of income or background—can experience the simple yet profound gift of travel. These thoughtfully designed trips offer more than a change of scenery; they create moments of freedom, laughter, and belonging. Whether it’s feeling sand between their toes, sharing a meal with new friends, or creating memories that will be talked about long after the journey ends, each experience is an opportunity for joy to take root.
Every trip is rooted in dignity, inclusion, and care. Participants are celebrated not as patients or residents, but as individuals with stories, dreams, and a deep desire to feel connected to the world around them. The impact extends far beyond the trip itself—residents return with renewed energy, strengthened relationships, and memories that continue to inspire joy long after they return home.
Because everyone deserves to feel seen.
Because everyone deserves moments of wonder.
Because joy should never be out of reach.

I have had the best time, this trip was worth a million dollars!

"Favorite Moment: Looking over at Ms. Linda after riding the Mystery Mine and her telling me with most serious face I've ever seen, "That was NOT family friendly!" And then in the same breath screaming, "I loved it!!" Priceless!!! And then during the facility tour seeing her again and have her tell everyone, "That was the very best vacation I've ever had in my entire life!" You just can't beat that!!"

"One that stands out to me was on arrival day. ECC pulled up and I got on the bus to welcome them to Pigeon Forge. One of the ladies, looked at me and smiled. In a low voice, she whispered is this a nursing home. I smiled and said NO, this is a new fancy hotel. She smiled and said, " do we have a room here?" I said yes, we do. Her face lit up and she said "OK”."
